Iskra Sistemi Supplied Telecommunication Equipment to Gazprom

Last December, Iskra Sistemi completed two major supplies of voice and data transmission equipment to the Russian Gazprom, the world leading producer and distributor of natural gas.
In the scope of the first project, Viborg, Iskra Sistemi supplied SparkWave DRL GA radio-relay and telecommunication equipment for the installation along the 200-kilometer natural gas pipeline leg linking Saint Petersburg and Vyborg. This is a follow up to the project from 2005, in the scope of which Iskra Sistemi supplied equipment of the same type for the 500-kilometer natural gas pipeline leg from Gryazovets to Saint Petersburg. The present project, also notable in financial terms, involves the modernisation of the supplied radio-relay devices supplied five years ago, as well as the supply of new SparkWave DRL GA equipment. Gazprom has extended the gas pipeline to the Finnish border and plans to extend it further to Germany to allow stable supply of natural gas in the future.

Another project, smaller in volume, is the Soči project, in the scope of which Iskra Sistemi supplied Gazprom with ten radio-relay links of the new SparkWave SDR generation range for the purposes voice and data transmission along the 300-kilometer natural gas pipeline leg Sochi – Krasnodar.

All the supplied equipment is to be be installed by Gazprom technicians as soon as weather conditions permit. This will be followed by the system commissioning by Iskra Sistemi, according to the time schedule, in the first half of 2010.

In December 2009, the Iskra Sistemi production premises saw the final measurements of the radio-relay equipment in the scope of the Vyborg project for the Russian utility Gazprom.
