Three Road Traffic Automation Projects
Last December, the road transport automation experts of Iskra Sistemi completed three projects: the Šentvid tunnel, the Dragomelj control centre and the Moste gallery.
In the scope of the Šentvid tunnel continuation project, Iskra Sistemi fitted traffic control equipment and the control-monitoring system in the inlet and outlet tube connecting the tunnel to the Celovška street; these tubes entered the traffic service on 19 December. Though the Šentvid tunnel construction is finished, a further upgrading of the monitoring system is planned, for the purposes of functional integration of the Šentvid tunnel and the junction at the Celovška street.
The second completed major project involves the relocation of the communication node from the old Ljubljana regional traffic monitoring centre to a new site. In the scope of this project, Iskra Sistemi relocated the monitoring centre from the Smodinovec location to a new location at Dragomelj and upgraded it with new functionality. Dragomelj is the site of the Slovenian motorway company DARS new regional centre to monitor the entire motorway network in Ljubljana and its broad basin.
The third significant project completed in December, though smaller in extent, involves the upgrading of the Moste gallery traffic safety equipment; in the function of the main contractor, Iskra Sistemi renewed the lighting system and modernised and upgraded the control-monitoring system.
