The Divača-Koper Railway Section Modernisation in Full Swing
The works under the contract of modernisation of the Slovenian railway infrastructure awarded to Iskra Sistemi by the Public Railway Transport Agency in December 2007 are in full swing.
Along with the installation of signalling and safety systems, telecommunication systems, power supply systems, passenger information systems, track point heating systems and cable interconnections, modernisation of traction power stations, the contract involves track technical security systems. In this scope, Iskra Sistemi is to fit video surveillance devices and cameras in indoor sections of all the eight railway stations (Rodik, Hrpelje -Kozina, Prešnica, Černotiče, Hrastovlje, Rižana, Koper – freight yard, Koper – passenger station). At all the stations, the following systems are also planned: fire protection system, anti-burglary system and automatic fire extinguishing system applying FM 200 gas.
Iskra Sistemi is also to fit all the stations with cameras at their incoming track points to allow the Slovenian Railways officers to monitor train passages (the passing of the last carriage across the points). The objective of the modernisation and implementation of technical security systems is to allow staff-free operation of the stations, with all the activities and events at the stations monitored through video surveillance systems. According to the contact provisions, the Divača-Koper railway section modernisation is to be completed in the first semester of the coming year.
